is this something myvestacp can handle ?
myVesta has nothing with MySQL/MariaDB.
You should check sql statements or optimize tables... https://mariadb.com/kb/en/optimization-and-tuning/ or similar tutorials.
Eventually you can switch from MariaDB to MySQL.

Re: update installer and distributions

Well, Debian10 is shipped with php7.3
Everything on Debian 10 is based on php7.3
So, php7.4 must be a upgrade, not default setup.
Until Debian11 come.

Sorry to hear that about HestiaCP :(

Re: backup failed not enough disk space available to perform the backup.

but it will be very hard to calculate the size of excluded folders...

what I can do is to make new config variable, for example $DONT_CHECK_AVAILABLE_SPACE_BEFORE_BACKUP, so you can set that variable in vesta.conf

Re: migration from i-mscp panel - few questions

i think the easiest way is with symlink, simply symlink public_html to /var/www/virtual/domainname.tld/htdocs
also chown symlinks: chown -h user:user public_html
after that just alter open_basedir in pool.d conf files - viewtopic.php?f=18&t=54
